What would be better to get a perfect radius on a manual machine?
Shell mill isn’t really

Undercut all the yellow...

So the rest if the shell won't hit.

Only use one insert in the cutter

If doing a fresh bar, you can plunge a carbide endmill in, drilling a series of holes to remove the majority of the material. Then use the shell, or boring head to do the radius

I used a grinder and cutoff wheel to remove most of the bar, you can see the cut marks in the bottom plate.

Yeh, it's gonna rattle clatter etc. Long as it dosent catch and throw across the shop.

I’m way more familiar with the mill. Very little time on the lathe
