Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

Don’t be surprised, have someone load the clip for ya and put a blank or 2 in there. Trust me, you’ll know if you’re anticipating recoil. I have that issue, A former sheriff, swat officer and a hell of a great guy told me about that. It works.

Dammit ya beat me to it. I wasn't SWAT or a hell of a great guy tho........

So I put my 556 laser boresighter in the barrel of my 40 S&W pistol and dry fired it several times.

At a distance of about 12 feet the dot stayed put until the trigger broke. Most of the time the dot moved to 1. One time the dot moved to 2, and one time the dot moved first to 1 then to 3. I even managed to keep the dot still when the trigger broke twice. This was out of dry firing the gun 10 times.

Does this mean anything, or not really because I knew the gun wasn't going to go bang?

Maybe I should use my revolvers, leave a couple chambers empty, and spin the cylinder without looking to see if I flinch.

Yep. That's why ya need to have some random 'bangs' in the drill, and why you need somebody to set it up for you.

The Russian roulette thing with the revolver works too (don't put it to yer head tho). :farkyou:

Just be sure to not be lookin at the back of the cyl ta see if ya got a hot one on deck. Stare down range while spinnin and closing the cyl. Keep pulling the trigger until you get a 'bang', then do another spin.

You can also put two live ones next to each other, then space and have one more. If you do it right, you'll never know if you'll get a second 'bang' after the first.

Just aim at the middle

Highly Visible Tritium Night Sights | XS Big Dot's | 3-Dot Sights | F8 Sights | Shotgun Sights (xssights.com)

I like 'em. Simple and rugged.

It's a subconscious act. Have someone load up a few mags for you with a random mix of live and dummy/snap cap rounds. Ball and dummy drill. If you don't have dummies, you can have someone set your gun up for you with either a live round or an empty chamber (wif you not lookin at 'em while they're setting it up so you're surprised). Get two or three live pops (or a full mag, or) and then a dry pipe and you'll see what flinch is. 👍

I wuz a certified firearms instructor fer 15 plus years. Dunno if that means that I know what I'm talkin about or.........

YMMV

Everyone is different
Personally I get the best consistent accuracy with the high thumbs combat grip and weaver stance.
I taught my 8 year old great niece
Last week
This method with a tx .22 and m&p compact .22
And had her shoot a xdm 10mm
The biggest help to her was shooting
At a blank target
Just a piece of cardboard
I had her following her first shot placement
And was just stacking them in a nice group.
She's hooked now
And wants to try my g3 compact 9mm
and m&p compact .40
