Tim’s payloader and generator BS thread

It looks like a nice size for pullin with a pick-up.

My limited google skills dug up a little info about it. It' looks to be an IH 3964 or 3964B. That's a 100hp machine that weighs around 15k pounds (though I also found a Heavy Equipment forum poast where a guy sez it weighs 45K lbs........WTF?). It evolved into the IHC/Dresser 640/650/650HD series.

Ih 3984 b

I have an International 1980 3984 Series B (640 Dresser) track hoe / Excavator for sale this is good size machine that weighs around 45,000 lbs I think. Note the "B" series was ONLY created in 1980 for a short time before they re-branded to 640 Dresser. The hour meter shows 4,490 but I have no way to validate. The reduction drive on one of the tracks has the bearing out. I have pulled it apart and just not had a chance to fix it. When the bearing went out it damage a few of teeth on some of the reduction gears. I think the few teeth that were damaged could be welded as a fix but have not had the time to split it all apart and check. Has enclosed cab but glass on side door is missing. Has the standard 2 stick controls. The under carriage is good. Most of the pins are good and tight but the pins on the end bucket do have slack in them but still very usable. I bought this from a farmer to use on my farm. Machine starts good and runs strong. I work a lot and have too many projects so posting to see if anyone is interesting in buying as is. Machine of this size in good working order I believe would bring around 15,000 but with it broken make me an offer. I am an IH fan and would love to see this restored. I am located near Kansas City Missouri. If you are interested call Bill at 816-686-3389. Please leave a message if or text me if I don’t answer.

That boom weighs 15k by the looks of it, I'd say the 45k is likely right.

This old beast was parked along the old disused Mill A complex on the PALCO mill property in Scotia, Ca. Don't think she's moved in a while. Portions of the complex are now being used as boat storage, water storage (in huge rubber bladders......weird.), and a brewery. Other sections are being stripped of equipment (scrap) and lumber. There's an outfit that dismantled the Mill B complex (where Randymac's Dad was a saw tooth setter) and sold said lumber for big $ as reclaimed lumber to contractors building spensive houses for folks wif moar money than brains.

I love exploring these old sites before they're lost to history. Got a buncha pics taken around and inside sections of Mill A. There's a neat old I4 gasser powered winch mounted to a carriage that rolls on rails along one side of the mill to pull logs to various machines and carriages within the mill. You can see the raised catwalk that the rails and winch carriage are on in the reflection of my side mirror here. There are pipe guardrails along that catwalk. I have pics of the winch. These were taken years ago.....................so the mill is probably stripped and the winch sent to china fer scrap......
