Tim’s payloader and generator BS thread

The newer loader arrived today. The pride of ownership didn't last long. The rear wheels aren't driving. Front wheel drive only. I haven't disassembled it yet to figure out whats wrong. I suspect a planetary failure and parts removed to eliminate the noise it would create.

Planetary reductions in the hubs?

For those wondering, the wheel loader is an Ingersoll-Rand WL 350. It is a re-branded Schaeff model SK634. Terex also re-branded this loader as model TL80.
Yanmar acquired Schaeff a few years ago. The Yanmar equivalent of this is a model V8. It has been re-designed a bit and and is powered by a Yanmar engine instead of the Duetz model 4F2011 engine.

Correct. The axles and transfer case are ZF, German made stuff. I'm planning on pulling it apart tomorrow.
eewww. you aint gonna find that stuff layin around. i have clark and rock well parts in storage.
Tim i am reminded of the michigan 35 aws, they had a lever to disengage one axle so it steered easier. any chance of similar?

troof
found some used stuff listed online. PM's scent to Netherlands and Pollock land. Local ZF distributor parts quote is over $5200.

I believe that qualifies as a bonified O SHIT, just my impressions there
more like, i aint tellin shit, ima run her till she quits. fuck head. that was a noisy jerky slamming ordeal. those dont just let go all at once. prolly leaked the gear lube out and no one checked it, then when she locked up he give it to her. like i said, beat for days.

and with that damage all of it needs replaced. was there even an axle in it? may be cheaper to find a whole used take out rear?
The was no axle or anything in it. It had been taken apart and re-assembled without the parts that would make noise.
Finding anything used will be tough and may take time. I haven't seen a lot of ZF off highway stuff here in the US. The axles are built with different ratios, widths and wheel bolt patterns. I'm hoping to find a used planetary/hub assembly.

Tim, Case/NH and Agco have used some ZF stuff for MFWD front axles through the years. Even the first 50 series Deere mechanical were ZF till JD started building their own.

A trip to All States Ag Parts or if they still have anything left up at Larsen's in Cambridge might turn up something that used the same hub/planetary?
