Adjustable pump/pro is driven off the drum, I thought. Fixed pump/non-pro is not, iirc.

I worked on a 024 and a 260 yesterday and they both definitely oiled at idle
I really don't know if they are supposed to
I've only worked on a handful of these saws.
The 260 I worked on oiled at all times running and it didn’t just oil, it puked oil
Early 026’s would oil anytime the engine was running . Later models ,including the 260’s , should only oil when the chain is driven . Allegedly .
If you convert them to the ridgeline clone AKA pro models, the oiling at idle goes away was what I understood? But I've not done one
eye dont let m idle much anyway, so can live with it

The non-pro / always on oiler oils a bit more than the pro in my experience. I'd never go through the hassle of converting it.
There's a guy on as that won't give a 024 back to it's owner he's had it year's

Meh, I built a chico 660 for Randys build off years ago. Ended up with an Amish logger, it was still running a couple years later.
I've run a couple AM cranks and they've all worked. Only seen one fail and that was due to operator and he's broken OEM them same way. I much prefer OEM but sometimes..
