I think an 025/250 carb fits with minimal hassle and makes itnfully adjustable and adds some zing.

$12 for the last one i got ,, took couple weeks.
I ultrasonicated the old one a few cycles,, stihl no go, I wonder where the issue lies.
China carbs have been decent on those. I have a 025 on my bench right now that I China carbed 4 or so years ago.. used by a tree crew. Stupid thing holds up.

I swapped a chingchong ebay fully adjustable carb (marked Zama) onto my FS200 brushcutter in place of the fixed H side Zama. Works fine.
I thought Zama was Chinese for POS
They was a Japanese carb company that made a good copy of a Walbro SDC. Then Stihl bought Zama and moved manufacturing to China.
So..........................no for a number of years (Some late 10-series Macs and SXL-AO Homelites had OEM Zama carbs, and those worked fine).......................and now yes.

did some readin, thinkin this pos worked when new
turns out the one adjust screw is air, not fuel like most
start by turning ccw til it stops, lh thread, so is actually all the way in
then cw [out] 2 full turns
adjust for chain stopped idle from there
is workin now
saved $12. by spendin 3hr tryin to figger it out

Rebuilding the 029, well I put the new fuel line in backwards.
