The Stihl thread

They was a Japanese carb company that made a good copy of a Walbro SDC. Then Stihl bought Zama and moved manufacturing to China.


So..........................no for a number of years (Some late 10-series Macs and SXL-AO Homelites had OEM Zama carbs, and those worked fine).......................and now yes.
i have an OEM japan zama on an early 044. never rebuilt it, never have touched it, runs its ass off.
i have a couple china clones Dave got early on, one runs real good, the other is hard to tune. bunch of knock offs on briggs and kohlers, only one was NFG so far.
 
are any 260s made to oil @ idle?
read of not compatible diffs on it & "pro", 2000ish
this one has [steel] oil pump worm that clutch hub tightens up against, makin me think it will oil all the time
cleaned up n start/runnin good
need mini oil flippy n clutch drum to test ride
