Ok, I see where this headed...

1. We hear at the Mendocino sawdust society take a dim view of new fangled non carburetor saws.
2. Admittedly, the 2 500s I've seen were back up faller saws.
3. I would assume the POS , will show up at some point this spring on the landing and I'll have to pull the trigger.
4. 1st generation saws of any brand suck donkey dick.
5. With the 461 available, for the time being, and $400 less...
6. That said, I'll keep an open mind.

Stihl has generally always needed to do better on the air intake. 40 years ago the air box was next to the chip exhaust. Now it's on top but the intake is near the bottom.

meh..........my 461 needs tapped out constantly, my older saws hardly ever, and then most of it falls off the outer band. improved my ass.

It’s always been amazing that we pay what we do for a saw that needs work off the floor. One thing this really has going for it is the weight over my Husky 390’s.
