The prepper preparedness list thread

I bought ten P-38 and ten P-51 can openers on Amazon a while back. Both of my multitools have can openers on them. Also, I already only use a manual can opener in the kitchen. People forget that their canned goods won't do any good, if the power is out, and they only have an electric can opener.

I never owned an electric can opener.
8 lb splitting maul

What happens in a potential long-term scenario (no electricity)? There will be no natural gas/propane/gasoline/diesel. Are you that close to other people, that they could steal your firewood piece by piece, or even with a wheelbarrow?
I'd never thought of anyone would steal
Firewood
But I was wrong.
I dropped a big dead ash tree for a old fella and blocked it up.
It wasn't near any homes but
It was behind a gate on his 200 acre
Farm.
I went back a few weeks later
To start hauling it to his house.
There wasn't a single piece left
I'm talking large tree close to a 4ft diameter base.
And they actually cut and took all the limbs that was burnable in a stove
very neat work.
The only access was a ATV trail
And it was well worn
But runs about 8 miles onto a paved road
We still have no idea who took it.

That's freaking crazy. I've had it stolen from the woodlot where I was cutting, but never from nearby my house. Not to say it can't/won't happen; just not a good argument for not having a wood stove.
