Last I read was 19 officers outside the classroom that they locked him, because the chief figured everyone was probably already dead and didn’t want any of them to take a chance of getting shot. I bet that’s real comforting for the parents to know that the chief places zero value on the lives of the children in the community.

Hind sight is 20/20 I know...

But no way do I not go in... even to save 1..

Or get shot trying.. the parents were willing to do it for them,

When I was at on the FD we had a community wide active shooter scenario at our local high school with our county PD, State Police and all the local Fire Departments.

We trained and were told, if there is a active shooter the first two officers get into the school. As more PD comes, more officers get into the school. As soon as Fire arrives we were to grab our gear, then team up with a officer to get inside to start treating. And it is our call as medical responders if we are willing to enter those doors without a officer if one wasn’t available.

Sometimes it gets just an arm. And you need to give them a little wack, but trying no to hit the trap or you bend the shit out of it.

What I don't understand is why one or two didn't back off 100 yds or so and shoot him through a window. 1 well placed shot that he couldn't see coming would have ended it quickly.
