Anyone ever shot a Walther PPK in .380. Seem a little pricey. Are the sweeter shooting like the S&W performance center guns or does everyone buy them because of Sean Connery?

I haqven't shot it much, only about 50 rounds. the trigger is ok, nothing special and nothing terrible. after deer season i plan to shoot it a lot with the dot i put on it. i would now but don't want to mess the woods up for him to hunt on and deer season starts next Saturday.
It's been wonkey for about two weeks now.

The PPK is a classic, been around quite awhile, said to be reliable. Low slide mass, blow back action means a hefty recoil spring, racking a round in requires a good tug.
Small autos don't always feed all types of ammo, older designs might only feed full patch bullets, in 380 there isn't many JHPs that will expand, so FMJs are likely the better choice.
The standard is a 95gr FMJ at 950 fps +-, compare that to a 158gr LSWC standard pressure 38 Special at 750 FPS or a +P at 950 FPS.
38 +P with light JHPs hit pretty hard and will probably expand. I carry heavy lead in the J Frames, figure they will go on through, RNs are likely to tumble, SWCs bore a 38 hole.
