Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

HELL, i forgot there is a scale difference. my average prolly is close to 1k going by the more liberal scale. whats 8 trees on an 80k load to you? truck light at about 30k, its gonna net me only about 3500 feet. if its good and get measured i might get up to 4200.
scribner scale
an average log truck here @80k will have 5000 ft +-

I don't know how old you are
But my brother cut timber and was a climber and ran his own timber company for over 40 years.
He said he wished he would've quit sooner
He's had both knee's and both hips replaced
And both rotator cuffs repaired
It's a rough job.
Be 38 in june, i'll quit when they cover me with dirt be it next week or when i'm 80
i still say you could just run your own show alone and make just as much on 4-5 loads of nice timber a week. work less, make the same. thats about all i am gonna cut now, i wouldnt make shit just falling for some one else. the only i could would maybe be out west on big timber where one tree might make two loads.

I do buy some of my own, and am more of a partner in the outfit i work for nowadays. There is no way i would go back to strictly contract falling by the foot or for normal day wages. When i do day rate falling work its $500 for a short day. So maybe 25 possible veneer quality trees. My normal job i still push pretty hard for volume, it pays more

Typical day wage here is $300 for cutting avg stuff. The cutter is expected to produce 10k ft min daily at that rate. Which in the size stuff i typically am in is no problem at all. I have just gotten away from doing day wage stuff unless it is cherry picking veneer and my asking price. The money is in getting paid by volume produced, which i have also set my rate for that. Theres just not many guys around here doing this work

well i ran that 357 barrel up to 400 bucks. fuck it. every thing i like brings crazy money now, it used to be no one wanted old dodge pick ups or single shot rifles.
guy down the road has a plain 79 d150 swb, nothing fancy, small block, needs the regular body work and im sure the engine trans wouldnt suit as is. he wants 3500 and will prolly get it. but not from me.

We have those here
Usually people traveling to CCW friendly states get them.
Anyone can carry concealed here in state here doesn't need a CCW permit if they've never had a domestic charge or a felony conviction iirc.

Same here. We're one of the first states with Constitutional Carry. I'm putting in the paperwork for my CCW (or whatever they call it here) this week. Then I can carry in the 36 states that Wy has reciprocity with. FU to the other 14. Also, with a Wy carry permit I can buy firearms from/through dealers without a NICS check (private party transfers are legal without the check).

LOL LOL BARREL SOLD FOR 610!!! geez people are crazy.

We need to talk. You're talking about an NEF/H&R .357 max barrel correct? I can probably hook you up for a lot less than that. May not be for a while....

yes sir. can also be mag, they are easy to ream to max. the barrel i was bidding on was a topper, light taper with an ejector, but any 357 brings coin. i am not opposed to a whole rifle either, as long as its a reasonable price.
