With handloading you can get better long barrel 10mm performance than the factory loadings (which are optimized for 4-5" barrels).

Move to the slower end of the powder spectrum (among those suitable for 10mm). Accurate #9 works well. I wouldn't go longer than 8 or 10" with a 10mm. Very little gains beyond that. I can get about an additional 40-100fps out of my 6" 1911 and 6.5" Smith M610 revolver over the 4-5" pistols. The animals won't know the difference in any case.

The issue with most .40cal JHP bullets when hunting isn't specifically related to a carbine length BBL. More related to full pressure 10mm loadings vs the 40SW and light 10mm loadings that they're intended for. An extra 100-300fps over 40sw velocities can make a HUGE difference in JHP performance.

Yep. Armscorp has been making 1911's for decades, and continues to do so for RIA. RIA is a Nevada based importer that brings in pistols rifles and shotguns from Armscorp as well as some from Turkey and the Czech replublic (and possibly other places). I've been very happy with my double stack 10mm RIA 1911. It's a heavy bugger though.....

The USPS dude just filled my mailbox up with 2 Ruger 57 mags, 2 Ruger LCP2 mags, 3 Taurus TX22 mags, 2 RIA MAPP 9mm mags. 3 different ADE pistol red dots. Delta pro, Numa pro and Trumpet.

One goin on the Glock 40, Canik TP( elite and the SA XDM elite 10mm (Maybe)

Gots to get all those high capacity clipazines before asshole bans them. now he talkin about banning all semi auto guns.
