I tried to punch this one apart,, nope.

I was thinking that the center pin was held in place by a roll pin?
No roll pin,, the center sleeve /pin seems to be the holding part.
5lb hammer and a punch and no movment,, I think some heat maybe.

Use a big C clamp and a couple of spacers.
Lots of people use them to go on the safety chain attachment points on the newer hitches that the smaller hooks won’t fit on. I put a set on my 2012 Chevy a few weeks ago.

It's called a hammer lok or hammerlock. Pin will only come out 1 way, no heat required. If you think you're ever gonna want it apart again, blob some never seize on the bushing when you hammer it together

hammer locks dont really come apart except with a torch or zip wheel. thats kinda the point of um, permanent.
I've seen them with a step in the pin but they normally have a slot in the big end so you can turn it. I think t1 dated one of those too
I think T1 calls his date "The big C clamp"
I used to take them apart, used them for the big chains the plows hang from on the front of the graders. Maybe there's more than one kind? Now they don't come apart easy, but if you got the right size punch, not too bad
meh, melt it and use a new one.
