Tim's New Workhop thread.

Moved the neighbors garage today. Only moved it couple hundred feet to his back yard. It was kinda heavy for it's size, 14''x20'. It was left over from the original farm house that was on the property.
I'm trying to figure out a good way to reuse the concrete. I'm thinking set the jigsaw pieces on sand and pour a new slab on top, with rebar. Any advice?

From what I have seen, pouring concrete on top of concrete doesn't turn out good.

I finally got some time to work on some projects. I graded and set one of the concrete slabs. I got it pretty close to level with the excavator. Then I watered it down to compact it. As the water level went down I scraped the high spots into the low spots. It was fairly casual work. I got 3 more to go.Resized_20230712_142354.jpeg

Finally got the tenants out?

I feel like this should be in the workhop thread...
Dun.
Can't post many details but I'm glad to see them go. I just wish they hadn't taken my 5 business phones with them, broke my Quincey air compressor and left layer upon layer of concrete spillage on the concrete floor. I have to hire out all repairs and cleaning. Luckily I was able to get a contractor to clean up the yard before the ground froze.

Almost done washing the ceiling and walls. It cleaned up nice but took a lot of time scrubbing. Going to return the spider lift tomorrow. I've had it for 2 weeks. I going to spray "wash and wax" on the walls. Maybe they'll clean up easier next time.

Brought the compressor home for repairs. I want to fix it but don't have time for another project right now. I'm leaning towards picking up a used compressor. 3 phase compressors sell for cheap. Looks like it was run low on oil or not serviced and the oil broke down. The bearing didn't spin but the journal is scored.Resized_20240203_131806.jpegResized_20240203_141544.jpeg

I bought and installed a cheap back up compressor to run while I repair this one. Now I have more time to fix this one.

I've been wondering what caused the bearing scoring. Was it run out of oil or lack of maintenance? It seems it was lack of maintenance. There is oil sludge in the crankcase and oil varnish on the stuck piston rings. The discharge valves are pretty rough at least 2 of the 3 need complete replacement. I think it will cost about $2k in parts to fix. I see replacement compressors, pump only for $11k. This thing is pretty big for a reciprocating compressor. It is rated at 55 cubic feet per minute at 175psi.
