Fixed oilers on these
Top 025 a freebie just needed a fuel line and the oiler filter cleaned.
bottom one I rebuilt and mildly ported for the 91 year old neighbor
It actually is a good running little saw
He's on his 3rd bar
And a shitload of chains he hits everything when he cuts
Ground,fence,atv,cattle even bales of hay somehow.
 
Gots an old 026 here . Pretty early version . Red lever , oils any time it runs , non adjustable pump .
cylinder looks good . But it struggles to get 140psi compression . The question is : leave it be , or re-ring it ?

Is there enough squish if you delete the base gasket?
 
If it was my time and my money i'd leave it as is. But he wants the extra squeeze so do it... Is the piston worn?
The piston looks decent given the saws age ,and care . Just some scuffing on the skirt on the intake side .
pretty moot point about the rings now . Popped the cylinder off this AM to have a look at things . So, it’ll get a set of caber rings . Thanks to all that responded . Love this place . Where else can you go to get an informed opinion , get a laugh ,or two , and even get a hearty GFY occasionally . All in the same thread …
