Found this on a different site.
If M Tronic is run low on fuel, and they keep trying to start it, it will go rich to prevent burn up from a air leak. It often takes about 6 tanks (a real PITA) to correct.
During that time, you will often have to start it with the trigger depressed (and there is no fast idle setting).

when it went to stihler, it was reset while plugged in supposedly
