Saw a K frame, supposedly “never fired” .357 mag at lgs today. $900 with leather belt holster. Not even sure if that's inline.

If that K19/66 is good n tight, then it may actually be unfired (or was only fired with mouse fart level 38spl loads). Doesn't take many 357's to loosen them up.

Randy's right about what is should cost. Everything's been going crazy however. Search for K19's on Gunbroker.........

A K19 is great if'n you're gonna carry it a lot and hardly ever shoot it with full power 357's.

My favorite S&W for shooting hot 357's is indeed the N frame 27/28.

The L frame 586/686 is a good compromise.

A ruger chambered in .45 LC can be loaded hot/hot... pushing 30,000 + pressure IIRC...

I still kick myself for passing up an M29 Silhouette (10-5/8" N frame Smith 44mag with the 4 position adjustable front sight for 50/100/150/200 yds) in the used gun cabinet in 1990-something. Would cost me 4-6x as much $ for the same thing now.................if'n I could find one.

Unfortunately not my revolver. Shot one once. Long range shooting with them is surprisingly easy.


I love my 7.5" .44mag Super Redhawk. Would like to have a 8-3/8" M27 .357 for long range plinking. My 6.5" 10mm M610 is lots of fun.
