Looking at new Polesaws

I love no longer owning tools and toys

I love no longer fixing shit and no longer handling the bullshit that comes with being a DIYer

I think it’s great paying Ferrell’s to come every Thursday while I’m at work to mow and trim the lawn; I’ll never do it again - I’m at work 10hrs+ a day and on the road 2hrs a day - as long as I have my health I’ll be working like this for another 30 years or so - I have no plans to own more than I do right now, with the exception of a couple more pricey mountain bikes and running shoes….

Working that many hours one has very limtied time for themselves, I’d like to be able to bike and run and kayak and do things with the kids when they’re young now and older later on - something like the idea of changing the oil on the mower instead of going for a bike riding adventuring somewhere sounds absolutely ludicrous to me, I’ll just get rid of the mower all together and pay someone else to adopt said things as their own problem; it’s nothing I give a fuck about doing myself any longer…..

I’m happy to get rid of all my tools and other shit and just have the processes done for me - I work enough - I’m not working anywhere from 50-80hrs a week so I can come home and work on shit some more - fuck that…..

And just think of the nice echo pole saw my brother got for free outta the deal

God dang I’m a nice friggin’ guy!!
Awesome.

I’m kinda busy right now

That definitely happened - however, the term ‘all’ here only encompasses ‘most stuffs’ - like 99% of stuffs

Bout all I have left when it comes to tools are a couple tool bags with a few hand tools, a dewalt impact driver, and a few drywall tools

I put the gadgets and ‘hobby stuff’ in the same category and all that’s left there are my bike, my few pairs of running shoes, and the Apple gadgets - MacBook, iPad, and iPhone

And then I still of course own some clothing; then there’s my my stupid little Crosstrek that grants me access me to the Subie gang bang

I think someday I could see myself adding to this list of things with some more running shoes and another mountain bike or two or three

Other than those stuffs, you are correct in that I sold and/or gave everything else away

This is only a presumed placement of ball keeping

I’m the one who chose to get rid of my shit - she doesn’t get it and she’s given up on questioning it because nothing she says or does is gonna cause me to do anything different

I’m the fuck over owning things - I’m the fuck over doing things

I just wanna go to work and ride a bike and run and do shit with the fam - fuck anything else

Get rid of your things…
Get rid of yourself….
Just run….

🏃‍♂️🔥🤙

You might as well get a sex change. I have never met a man that didn't enjoy owning tools and toys.

I used to

Used to love the shit out of it

Sometimes things change and I want nothing to do with any of that kinda stuff anymore

But on to more important things….. this suggested sex change - I’m presuming you’re hopefully I go through with it because there’s something in it for you…??

In said case if it’s something I’m willing to do, I might request that you pay for it

I’m all for your happiness but I don’t want said results to come out of my pocket….

My sons mother wants all kinds of stuff; she’s got her own hand gun and gun safe and dreams of a place with land and 4-wheelers and all kinda shit like that

She hates I got rid of the smoker and the outdoor kitchen - she hates I got rid of everything else I owned cuz she prefers I do things myself - but you can’t work on shit if you got rid of all yer shit…. darn, guess I can’t do much but focus on my finances and health and stuff with the kids….

I just tell her to buy whatever she wants; it’s her money and it’ll be her problem to maintain and take care of whatever she gets, don’t bother me with any of it, I’ll be busy working and running…. 🤙

My money is gonna be saved and stuffed away for the next 30 years so I can leave her and the kids behind with at least a couple million bucks at minimum - and I’d be willing to bet said retirement pillow on the fact that I’ll be running and riding a lot of miles along the way while I do it….

I’d never expect anyone else to understand or in any way be admirable of it; it’s very uncommon to find a weirdo like me who’s stripped themselves of virtually all possessions and wants and needs and stick to that way of life so stubbornly and strongly…. all I really expect is me to keep my head down and grind away and don’t let anything get in the way of my goals…..

Let’s get it🔥

Does this count...?? I certainly don't own that, I'm also not a full suspension rider as that's a 'full sus' bike - I'm a hardtail guy through and through

But that said - a toy that well made with said components isn't something I'm against owning - the electronic shifting drivetrain is a Sram GX eagle, which isn't fully out of date but Sram released their Eagle Transmission drivetrain back in May and it trumps any electronic shifting system that's out there - the new XO Eaglel is $1600 and that's not even the priciest in the group

As it is my bike needs a new wheel set, a new drivetrain, new brakes, and a new fork - to upgrade it with the stuff I wanna buy, it'll cost roughly $3k - but at that point it'll be a brand new bike with only the frame as the original part - I'll definitely upgrade my current bike before dropping a big chunk of skrilla on a new rig

In the coming years I might consider potentially allowing myself to purchase a boatload of bike wrenching tools and then build my own bike shop so I can do most of the work on my bike(s) myself; if I were to do that I'd make even better use of it and I'd probably get with the school and locals and do what I could to fix/repair bikes for kids in the community for free and even parts some together and donate them to the churches and what have you so kids in the area have bikes to ride, lotta families in this rural area with not a lot of money, I'd be all for helping support that kids stay active and stay outside by delving in and fixing their bikes up; this is all a great idea but it's not all that realistic to stick to with how much I work - April through August every year I won't be able to do a thing with pool season going on and I'd hate to get involved with something I can't stay all that committed to

But yeah, back to owning toys.... If I get a couple super badass mountain bikes as the upcoming years go by, I'd rather spend my time riding them and not necessarily wrenching on them - I miss having something to tinker on and hobbyist things to do myself for sure but I've also learned how many irons I wanna have in the fire - work, family, finances, fitness... those four irons are more than enough to keep anybody busy, especially with how many hours I put in at work every week....
