Warter coming oft a roof @ 24’ up could require a pretty wide “ catch trough” on the ground since winds n rains volumes tend tobe variable 🤔🙄

Something I saw years ago was two rows of metal at an angle and offset so the water would get sprayed out and away from your house. Obviously no gutter to clean or issues with your foundation.

Kinda hate to remove the gutters . They’re the one piece gutters that I hung myself 20 + years ago . No leaks ,and heavy ice doesn’t effect them .
But for those of you that have removed them …. Do you have basements ?
As for the type of guard I’m looking at , it’s the stainless mesh type that can be bought at Amazon . Haven’t decided on which one ,if any at all . ( may just pull the gutters ) still weighing options .

Split level house with drain tile, sump pump, high water table and clay soil here. Yes, we sometimes have water in the basement. The water comes up through the concrete in the center of the basement cause of the high water table. Most of the house has concrete sidewalk around the perimeter. That helps. I do need to do some grading in a few spots but it really hasn't been a problem.
