Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

Honestly I do not own any high polished
Rifles or shotguns
All my guns are cold blued, parkerized or cerakoted
And have never rusted
Using motor oil.
Others have said that motor oil won't protect the finish of high polished blued guns
I really don't know.

Mobil 1 rocks as a gun oil, i have run the machine guns super hot and it still works, which makes sense cause car engines get hot. i run it in all my guns, 308 ar's need plenty of oil. you can not over oil one. i have some so called tactical crap that was free somewhere. i might have throwed it away. that crap stinks seriously bad. plus it was thin like water.

My father used that stinkin havoline oil in all his chevys, he used to try to get me to use it in mine when i got old enough to buy a car. i told him no thanks, i change my own oil. that stuff stinks too bad. which he never kept one long enough to see if it made one run a long time. which oils have come a long way since back then and these low compression engines have too.

LOL. Keep in mind that this was in Ca and we (seller and buyer) were newly employed cops with no desire to venture outside of state and federal laws....
I knew a cop like that once. But he waz old.
they have gun oil fights all the time, some feel they have to defend their buying of the expensive so called tactical oils.
I seen a video where they submerged an ar in motor oil and then Shot it.

I looked at a nice 99 in .358, $1200 worth of nice.

Ouch. Par for the course now unfortunately. Prices on everything have gone nuts, and that's a very desirable model. I'd like to pick up one of those or a steel frame Browning BLR-81 in .358. As with many things...........I should have bought one back when they were just 'old guns' and priced as such.....
