Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

Yup, a hand pump is either high pressure or high volume, ya can't have both in the same unit.

My BIL bought one of those hand pumps to fill a small (45ci) tank for testing paintball guns. I think you’d die before you got it to 3000psi. Granted the tanks on the PCP air guns are much smaller, but it ain’t a 10 second operation by any means.

Just get @Dieselfitter to ship you a SCBA compressor and 5000psi bulk tanks, that’s what I did. :farkyou:

How about this one?

Not trying to make any recommendation but if birds were all I was trying to eliminate this is what I'd use

I had a .177 RWS Olympic training air rifle, big, heavy, great sites. I think it did around 900 fps and was near worthless for pest control.
Unless you put that teeny pellet in the brain, it will zip through so fast they won't know they been hit. I did a snap shot at a big jay, mid lower center of mass, the fucker flew off, made it about fifty yards.
I had some sort of Crossman pump, it was made to shoot both BBs and pellets, bolt was magnetized, held the BBs in place. It shot well enough, had a five pump limit, subsonic lmao

Why do you recommend it?

Beeman is an old premium brand and I don't think they are chinese made. This guy explains it best, you can buy one without the scope for about $400 or so

Beeman R9 – Best Premium Beeman Air Rifle

For those looking for another full-sized option, Beeman makes the R9. This differs slightly from the above options and is certainly best left to serious marksmen.

Is this the best air rifle for the money?

If you’re looking for the best of the best, then yes. The R9 from Beeman takes German engineering and quality to a whole new level. So, if you’re looking for a straight-shooting air rifle, then look no further.

What is this designed to shoot? As with most of the other options reviewed above, this rifle is available in more than one caliber. If you’re shooting paper targets, then we would recommend the .177 caliber. For those looking to eliminate pests and/or hunt small game, a .22 caliber is the best choice. Luckily, you can choose which you like when ordering.

Is this air rifle beautiful?

Oh, yes, it certainly is. The R9 features a hardwood Monte Carlo stock. The cheekpiece is slightly raised for an unobtrusive, ambidextrous design. All you need to do is fit your scope to the 11mm dovetails, and you’re set to go.

The reason I asked is the velocity is 740 in the .22 caliber.

The reason I asked is the velocity is 740 in the .22 caliber.

740 is plenty on a .22 to kill a coon, it will have more energy at 740 than a .177 at 950, energy is the knock down power

.177 (7.6 gr pellet) is 15.63 pound feet of energy

.22 (16 gr pellet) is 19.46 pound feet of energy
