Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

A friend gave me a half full 5 gallon pail of Texaco 904 grease. It's a calcium soap base with graphite. He must've got it from work when he worked for the railroad. It's used on rails at the turns.

I've been using it in the internals of my firearms. It's blacker than tobies ass with graphite. The consistency falls between gravy and pudding. Kinda like an oil that stays where I put it. Dip a tooth pick in it and apply a drop or two and its good.

When I was a youngster, I worked a few years for Norfolk Southern Railway, in VA. I remember using that Texaco stuff constantly. I also think we used a Pennzoil product. There was a grease version, and a liquid version. Both contained a lot of graphite.

Putting the 223 aside for now, this is whats takin over for home defense for now. i still have the 223 loaded and at the ready. the 9mm blast shouldn't be as hard on the ears inside.

Sounds like some of T1's dates.

You said "hard on".

oil thread!
to be honest, and i have not purchased any hi dolla gun erl, most of what i have used dont last very long. wd40 is prolly as good.
i have not tried moter erl, but it makes sense.
now, when i got that 3030 topper, idk what dude had on it but damn it was slick and shiny for a long time. i have not so far found any thing to last like what ever he had on it. i should have asked.
Astroglide

WD40 is horrible gun oil. save it for he rusted bolts.
The guy's at the old gun store here from the 60s to recently they closed
Would tell customers of all the dead rounds
Over the year's.
Hunting situations but could easily have been defensive as well.
People sprayed their guns and ammo down
With wd40 killing the primers
More common back when guns were highly polished.
And some simply thought it would feed better.

there is a huge variance in ammo, even with the 'same' loading, but in a different color box at a higher cost.
Rem Golden Sabers are fairly mild in all ways, a better choice inside, up close, but I have it loaded with green and yellow box Rem 125s, they sound sharper when compared to the green and white box of the same bullet.

I may be a little paranoid, i have 40 cal handuns, 9mm handguns, three ar's and one m-16 loaded. also a 308 ar and several rounds of belted ammo loaded. also a couple different SMG mags loaded along with other mags loaded. now none hve one in the chamber unless it's on my person, then it is.

Not paranoid. Prepared.
