Some “ engineer “ needs their ass kicked !! Should have time todew some split/shuttl /stack of the nex 20” cord afta lunch 🤔🥵spoza see 80’s ef nex week 🥵🖕🖕🖕

Can you get a replacement hose that is set up differently?

The 7.3 engine has two types of upper coolant hose - the one for a dual alternator setup allows for the changing of serpentine belts without removing the hose.

Maybe you can do that with the vehicle you are working on.

This thing is basically a 4 wheel drive car with a 6 cyl transverse eng in a very compact area ,,prolly not even 1.5” clearance between the pulleys and frame 🖕 ,,,,if they coulda routed this hose any other way Eyem sure it wooda been built that way !! Guess eye shouldn’t complain about having to charge 1.5-2 hrs to swap a belt 🤨🤷‍♂️

Up here every one used to carry a spare belt for the time the belt breaks in the cold while starting the engine.
Having to drop the coolant to put on a new one would severely suck at -40 C on the side of the road

You should find one with 5 x 90° bends and a uturn that would make a left behind a motor mount and come out near the torque convertor bolts

And the swap is done completely frumunda,,,can’t even see the belt frum topside 🤨,took the R/F wheel oft ,,,8-9 screws to remove the bottom splash shield ,,,then 4 more screws n 3 plastic pushpin retainers to allow the R/F fender liner tobe folded n secured out the way ,,,draining the coolant : rad hasa petcock that drops the coolant down into the lower bumper ext and it can drip pretty much anywheres laterally across the front ( Eye had the r/f abit higher sews it awl ran out the l/f corner ,,keeping the mess minimal) ,,,both the lower rad hose and a smaller heater hose has to be disconnected @ waterpump ,,,,s’more coolant will drip on ya during that step 🤬🖕the 2 squeezy clamps will need the special tool to hold the clamps relaxd while sliding them oft the nipples ( Noway pliers will fit in there ) ,,,,,,Belt snakes around 7 pulleys ,,spring loaded tensioner that the belt has tobe shoehorned behind the pulley because it’s inboard of the arm assy 🤨,,,pretty straight acces to the tensioner ,1/2” drive square hole ,,used. 24”ratchet,,tensioner must be spring over hydraulic because it unloads slowly ,,A/C clutch was the easiest to reach sews that was the last pulley to push the new belt over 🙄🤷‍♂️🤗,,by the time it was awl back together then run and perform the system bleed procedure eye had 2.3 hrs invested 😳granted this was the first juan for me ,,🤔🤔could prolly cut the time by half hr nex time 🤷‍♂️,,,but as stated previously somebody needs an ass kicking for this clusterfck of a routine maint item !!🤬🤦‍♂️

That’s how the heater hoses are routed !🤨they transition from alum tubing to rubbah hoses 2X awl wif permanent crimp clamps 😳🖕🖕nothing is designed to be serviced . Looks like the grille ,a/c cond,radiator wood have to removed for an alternator swap !!😳🤦‍♂️Not this boy !!🖕
