bike pics n stuffs

This is what ya get when you get up in the northwoods, bikers stick to the main highways. We stopped at a little joint in the middle of nowhere and filled every barstool in the place for a beer or two.

My new rig is the lead machine in the picture. Honestly, I'd as soon ride one of those dual sport bikes, but for some reason WI DNR has a hard on for em and won't let them on the trails, restricted to logging roads and public roads only.

Plus, I can ride year round on the SxS, some but not all snowmobile trails are even open to winter ATV use. Just makes more sense to me.

What is your sxs?

What is your sxs?
2018 Polaris Ranger XP900. It's a great ride on the logging roads, not bad for the road riding around home, but a little clumsy on some of the tighter trails up north, power steering helps some with that though.

I've got 800 miles on it since the 1st week in June when I bought it, the pickup just sits in the yard unless I need to get big stuff or something from farther away. I almost rode it home from 150 miles up north last weekend, but time was a little tight so on the trailer it went.

I am going to get a decent set of radials for it, came with new bias tires on it, 1 is an inch + out of round and 2 more are about 1/2" out. Makes for a whole lotta shakin at speed on paved or hard packed road. I'll swap the old ones onto the old Suzuki quad, they're 2" taller, but same rim and width. The quad will likely spend very little time going fast enough for those tires to be a problem from here on out.

I hope to get one soon.

my first thought when I see new motorcycles is look at all those fucking gadgets, doodads and other fallible electronic gimcracks.
traction control, ABS...whatever happened to knowing what your bike is capable of. What is next? How about lazar lean indicators (curb feelers) with a shrill alarm when you are gonna drag hard parts?
Bah
They all look like same, many have a bizarre but goofy appearance, blah They are all processed cheese.
The late '60s into the late '70s was the real golden age, we had Moto Marini Three and a Halfs, a wide choice of Singles, Twins, Triples, Fours and Sixes.
Motorcycles looked and sounded like motorcycles

Hell, what I wanted when I had mine was in IR scope to see the deer in the ditches.

Cars and trucks are the same or worse.

Shit, a new Ranger like mine can be had with heat, AC, GPS, fancy 8" touchscreen stereo, etc. Gotta keep up with the AR 15 must have more gadgets crowd, I guess.

years ago, I rode my 4 wheeler on some snowmobile trails. I didn't know it was illegal. Judging by the way the snowmobilers were looking at me, you'd think I was twisting heads off of puppies. One guy stopped and started yelling at me. I rode off and didn't bother to tell him to fuck off. They is all bent out of shape over ruts in "their" trail but think nothing of running over trees in my front yard. A few times I took the wheel loader into the front ditch and rutted it up nicely for them bastards.
