I got a jar also, maybe 4 years ago. For some reason I wanted it in the store, still never opened it. The most I use pb for is to bait the mouse traps in the shed and garage.

Serious question. Can you still buy good wooden strike anywhere matches? Only wooden ones I can find are at the dollar store, toothpicks with red paint on one end
Diamond makes a strike anywhere match, they work——————- kinda, they are green instead of red and nothing like the old ones
good matches are tough to find and a bit spendy

Somehow I got bout 4 or 5 boxes of the old ready (sp) wood matches ,,,strike anywhere ones.
Red bird? I got them at the grocery store. No frillls here, but I think any loblaws shit hole has them.
I remember buying them at the grocery store when I was growing up, red bird brand I think they were and they really would strike anywhere. Who would have thought that they'd be gone 30 years later
