I don’t want to speak for him, but I believe he was ready to move on from the site and passed it on to a company so the members would no longer have to fund the site to keep it going.
Fun fact: he was the first registered member, here.
Yeah that’s the gist of it....
Sometimes you come to a crossroad whether it shows up randomly upon travel, or if you choose to drive to it yourself to face a decision.....
I pretty much made the choice to let it go - so many irons in the fire and it was one I had to remove. At one point they gave me an offer and a couple months later I simply gave it to them, walked away for no funds in return.
I figured that the fate of the site would be in the members hands and if it goes on without me, so be it; and if it goes off into the sunset never to be seen again without me, then so be it. I was also expecting T1 to start his own gig and that made me feel better about letting it go too. For a handful of years he was everyone’s leader over there anyways.... I didn’t see much sense in giving him something that would have put him in my shadow. And yes, I didn’t want to walk away from something that was mine that also called for the members to continue to pay for once I walked away. It wasn’t a burden or some toxic mess I would have left behind, but I would have felt like a shitty person to just be done and make people feel like they need to continue to pay for something I ran and created.
I’m both glad and proud to see a new place made and the same group of yahoos all together with our latest and greatest host, T1. It’s simpler, it’s easier, it’s his house and it’s his throne. I had my time and I’m past it - I love this crowd and will never be gone from it all - though I will admit I have my times of going on hiatus from time to time, which since my divorced has been a common theme for me. Such is life I guess....
SawHawgz was a good experiment in my mind - one that lasted almost a decade under my belt. You guys busted balls and hung out there for years, literally for years....
I was flattered for a long time - and the one thing I tried so hard to keep as the goal, ended up being exactly what I wanted; it was always about the members and the family that was there. Where you guys were didn’t matter. After seeing all of you get together and conjure within T1’s new abode, I’m so terribly proud to know that SawHawgz was never about the site, it was always about the members.
Thank you for everything everybody - forever consider me to always be your #1 fan....
