Replacement bottom metal

I have a Remington 700BDL with a bowed floor plate.

I looked around at options for replacing it or going to a detachable box magazine and happened across this, made by ATI. They are made of plastic, but I think retail on these is about $70, as opposed to $140+ for a metal set up.

It fits decent, just a simple removal of the old one and replace with the new.

Yep. The floor plate was bowed worse than that, I don't think I have a pic from before I beat it back semi-flat.

The stuff on the bolt handle is more residue from whatever chemical the FD uses than rust. You can see the same stuff on the AR in the pics I posted in the other thread. I'll post some of a SxS I cleaning up in a little bit.

I wish. Same shop has got a couple big collections recently, some really cool stuff that is way out of my price range. Guy brought in 40 pistols in a big tote. Original Hi-power and a Colt Python laying on the bottom, none of them in boxes or cases. :facepalm:

PTG makes good bottom metal fer the $. Better priced than Badger and a few others. That poly bottom 'metal' setup looks like what Magpul sells fer use in their stocks. Howa has something like that fer their various bolt guns too. Wish they did lh actions. Would love to have a lh Howa micro action in .221 Fireball or one of the other cool short varmint cartridges.

I like the little LH CZ's, but they're scarce and overpriced (as are their mags). The LH micro Yugo Mausers (including those that were branded as Remingtons) are now somewhat scarce and very overpriced. Of course.................all that'd be on hold until SLR primers become available and at least half way reasonable again.

I believe this is the kit Howa uses.

The Magpul takes AICS mags, I believe.
