I want to put a remote start on my car, any recommendations? I have read Viper is good.

Whatever kind the big glass shops are installing seem to be the best ones. That's where I got mine and it works perfect. I can't remember the brand name. Do not buy a DIY one and let Billy Bob down the holler install it
They can be pretty tricky to install at home.
Have had a shop install one on the Doe Beater's last 2 cars, life time warranty, won't void the car warranty. The remote key phob works from impressive distances.

We’ve had several Vipers. They all have been very good.
Like the Cow said, have the shop install it. They are a PITA.

Was remote start a factory available option? Sometimes its as easy as getting the modual and remote and plugging it into an existing spot. Some aftermarket ones are also plug and play.
Newer Chevy trucks, if it has a fob for the door locks there’s a kit that includes new fobs and a code for the dealer to use to activate the feature on the computer.

I got a price from the place that did my car stereo and the are $350-375 installed. Code alarm is the brand.

The War Dept's '16 Suburban has remote start as a factory option. Nice when things are froze'd up good outside.
My carport is close to 100 ft from the house and I thought it would be nice to not have to walk out there to start the car to warm up every morning.
My late 07.5 GM diesel has factory remote start,,
