Kids are back on the RC bandwagon. Picked up a Stampede 2wd to steal the motor and ESC out of for a RC10GT electric conversion. My daughter decided that wasn't a good plan and that she was claiming the Stampede. The 2wd Stampede is a wheelie machine, possibly more so with the Castle motor and ESC that's in it. While wheelies are great fun, it's kinda hard to steer when the front tires don't touch the ground. Parts should arrive today to convert the Stampede to a Rustler chassis, which will lower it down by over an inch, hopefully. I'll see if I can snap a few pics of that process.

Pulled the motor and ESC out of another parts truck to get it cleaned up. I think the previous owner was a plumber who wanted to be an electrician.

Swapped the chassis over. I forgot to get some of the steering hardware. Gotta get that before I can finish it up. Wheels and tires are the same, for now, so the clearance at the diff is the same. The center of the portion of the chassis drops about 1.5”. Hopefully that’ll help the handling.

I see 4 connections. what the heck does all them hook too?

Which ones? The red/white/black just above the right tire? Those go from the ESC (electronic speed control) to the motor. ESC is the brains, it handles the acceleration and braking. Both of which are done through the motor.

That particular ESC has the battery connections +/- on the opposite side. The one in the first post has all 5 connections on the same side.
