Shimano Curado BFS.

The good. Ability to cast 2.5 gram lures a reasonable distance. Light weight. So far after a summer of fishing the reel is still smooth, as it should be.
The bad. When trying to cast a long distance it is easy to overpower the brakes on the reel. Resulting in backlashing at the beginning of the cast. The key is smooth and easy casting, something I find difficult fishing in open water, but not towards cover. When I'm not trying to get that extra distance.

Ultra light or light baitcasters aren't for everyone, but if you like that sort of thing you might consider it.

I think I'll try the daiwa alphis air tw next time. But the shimano was $100 or more cheaper.

i got a couple phluger presidents i like, other wise i like garcia ambassador reels best. rods now days are light, but i dont like the super stiff action. every things heavy action much like a medium shirt is the new large..........but the fukin sleeves are for a midget.

Prevost air couplers. They're not cheap, but they seem to be a lot nicer than the regular style. I've got a couple and wish I'd have gotten them years ago. One handed operation and they automatically release pressure before disengagement (I dated a girl like that). iirc, I got mine off ebay.

On the subject of air hoses, Parker push-lok air hose is good stuff. No hose clamps. Just push it onto the fitting. The hose is good quality and lasts long.
