We used to have bike ice races here back in the 70s and 80s, now it's indoor motocross in the winter. The local dirt track has a big indoor arena setup behind the track.
The big thing now is the Iceman 500, a 500 mile UTV race on a lake about 15 miles from me. 8 mile track, it's billed as the world's fastest SxS race. People come from all over to run it and watch it.
One of my friends won this year on a new RZR 4 cylinder rig. Averaged over 80mph. It's a blast to go watch, although I had conflicting plans this year.

We used to have car races on a lake up here in the spring was a blast till the fun police showed up.
We won it one year in a 78 Malibu we were flying no speedo that was accurate,but the chopper was having a hard time keeping up filming us.
One year we hit a drift which launched us,my buddy which we had just passed said he could have drove his semi under us.
Shattered a rear wheel bearing and lost the axle about 1/2 a lap after.
Fuck i miss the Burwash 27.

Guess the tank is correct, i never seen a hi rider here or one i can remember. used to be a lot of Nortons, Triumphs and BSA's here. where they went i don't know. mostly all you see now is harleys, loud harleys at that. when the boozefighters go by my house they rattle the windows. their clubhouse is about two miles from me.
