We built our deer camp and outhouse and meat locker out of garage door panels which is styro in metal. had a guy in camp, one of the founders that got them dirt cheap. most were seconds. had scratches and small dents. didn't hurt none for us. we wasn't into the looks, only how they functioned. They are 3" Styrofoam panels
Sandwiched in metal

Yep. Hog shit and slop don't treat wood flooring very well. Concrete slab is in order here.....

Go for itWell, I’ve been doing some more investigating. I found two companies who make “prefab” hog barns. I talked to one company, they are pricey. I just got a email from another in Kansas and I like their prices. But the freight on a oversized building from Kansas is pricy…..
They say they can have a building ready to ship in 40 days. I’m looking at daylight. I may be able to pull it off hauling it home at night. I have a semi and trailer, it’s just whether or not I chance the DOT and if I do get pulled over and if they believe my ignorance
Snow would break that roof here.
I shoveled off a can today, bout 2ft of compact,, bet its close to 20lbs a sq ft
A cubic foot of snow doesn't make a cubic foot of water when it melts.A cubic foot of water weighs over 60 #
That be why roofs collapse under heavy wet snow
40%A cubic foot of snow doesn't make a cubic foot of water when it melts.
Scissor neck lowbed and winch truckI talked with another company today from Kansas. I questioned the buildings for northern climates. He said he has Northern climate options and gave me a list of people who have his buildings in Washington, Iowa, Idaho, Utah, Wisconsin, michigan etc…. One of his customers was not far from me so I called him. He said he loved the building, but his kids got out of hogs and it’s been sitting empty for the past few years. He gave me a good deal..
I need to go look at it on Saturday. Then to figure how to get a 12’ x 50’ building that is built on skids onto a trailer and then off the trailer here.
And no, I don’t believe in permits.
