Forney rods have been good for me, most hardware stores carry them.


But, I don't stick weld much anymore.

The big wal mart never done away with cashiers here, the neighborhood markets did for a while and guess they got too many complaints and they put them back in. both stores have self checkouts and cashiers. lot of older people had trouble with the self checkouts. i never have any trouble with it myself.

I do very little stick anymore. I tried a pack of their tungsten and I wasn’t impressed.

That experience alone made me decide to buy my consumables at the welding shop.

I do keep eyeing their helmets though. Everyone keeps telling me I need to give auto dark another try. I’ve only heard good things about their hoods. Every time I’m there I look at their hoods but have yet to bite the bullet.

Ross i have the vulcan auto dark and i like it. the rods however suck.
im just tacking a patch in the dump body, thin rusty metal. typical 6013 soft arch situation.
i kinda give up on mig for now. im not paying what they want for tank rent and wont sell me a tank other than the small one. fuck them.

Neighbor isa retired iron worker ,,,he gifted me a buncha stick rods,,,1/8” & 3/32” excaliber in some popular series ,,,6014,7018 few others ,,stuff welds nice ,,makes Me look like I know what I’m dewin!!🤷‍♂️⚡️💥😎🤔🤗👍👍
