The Stihl thread

I got a project mtronic 462 if ya want something to mess with
Thanks I appreciate it but I have more saws than I'll ever run 18 or so running and about 10-12 builder's
I've got a new 2172 and Dunlap is porting a 2171 for me
Plus a bunch of 2 and 3 series.
I gave about a dozen saws away last year to family mostly Stihl and dolmar
and all my Stihl bar's the only Stihl I have left is a old 015l brush cutter
That 462 should bring some money if you want to sell it.

I asked the guy again about the starter rope a couple weeks or so after I bought it. Yanked it out trying to start it he said. Pretty strange that there was no sign of a rope in that starter and the plastic parts are unharmed. Me thinks the Amish mfr in him told him that rope may come in handy for another saw...

I'm still waiting for the clutch cover. These Amish we have around here are way bigger crooks than the average english

Fella that owned it before yanked the rope out trying to start it after it siezed
That must be a different group of Amish than there
The one's I've seen around here and Ohio will absolutely destroy their saws like no clutch covers sometimes just washer's or plastics smashed off of them
What's funny is they'll all have the same type of saws the Stihl shop said they'll come in every few years and want like 10 of the same saws or the hardware store when they buy hammers or impact drills and stuff they all have to be the same.

Jon , are you selling that ? Asking for a friend …

I gave $100 for it with stipulation the clutch cover would be made available. I need to go by and try collecting the cover. Guy said it was straight gassed, I tried cleaning jug and found a couple plating chips below the exhaust port. I would run it myself but I don't need the saw and was hoping to just replace piston and sell. Took dealer 2 months to get piston and it was the wrong one, new style when it got here. Stihl is pretty proud of cyl / piston kit to actually fix it right. If I can get the cover I would let it go, but it is a project
