The Stihl thread

Newsflash

Stihl dealers in my area are computer illiterate and blame it on lack of training...

So at 3x dealers now I have heard this and at every one I have pointed at a 500i on the showroom shelf and asked why they are selling one if they aren't smart enough to hook the mfr to the computer to diagnose or fix any future issues.. crickets

Follow these simple instructions:

Turn on computer
Download software
Wait for software to update for 45 minutes
Hook hardware to saw
Run diagnostics by following instructions given by software
Make repair as given by the software
Find out you’ve been given the incorrect diagnosis by software
Replace all electrical components anyway
Return saw to customer

:D

Actually this one ran flawless in stock form but it's far from stock now and it needs calibrated so it will maybe learn to fuel properly. The first segment of calibration requires 30-60 seconds of idle time and it will only idle 10 seconds before it dies. They actually are dependable saws.

Get a 585

Problem solved

Si

Eye got nothing for sail. But that mfr runs

And I wouldn't trade 1 500i for 6 old huskys. Not that I am brand loyal at all. Just know what works to make money

Hooray MS461 and 394/395XP...

I like my old junk they're fun I do have a few new saws but they set around.
Actually I was going to buy a carbed 462 off of dan in Greece
But somebody on as reported him for importing them and he quit selling them or he couldn't get them anymore iirc

Fucking snitches get stitches....

There is a douche in every crowd...

@Maulface

I asked the guy again about the starter rope a couple weeks or so after I bought it. Yanked it out trying to start it he said. Pretty strange that there was no sign of a rope in that starter and the plastic parts are unharmed. Me thinks the Amish mfr in him told him that rope may come in handy for another saw...

I'm still waiting for the clutch cover. These Amish we have around here are way bigger crooks than the average english.

Knott came undone at the pulley end......

The piece of shit on as was mad he couldn't afford one of those saws
So he called Stihl corporate in north america
Just to cause trouble.
Not just because of that I think dan eventually stopped importing saws all together now.
He was finding nos Husqvarna and stihls in Greece
The supply might have dried up.
