The Stihl thread

Stihl guy's are rabid beyond reason
If you can Just find a used oem
Cylinder and make bank
On eBay or the Facebook.
I bought a new early 261 carby I just didn't have a use for it only had 200.00 in it
It was a decent enough little sub 20" bar saw
I traded it to my cousin for a minty 400 big bear
He tells the world about how strong that 261 is for some reason.

Had a bucking billy ray Cyrus YouTube vid pop up a few days ago. This one was all about cutter tooth gullet. Now, am I wrong or did that douche used to say get the gullet? Now, he says it really don't help to open the gullet. For some reason I thought "get the gullet" was part of his brand. I only mention it because I figured you was following him closely for axe specials

Whenever I watch Joe's dyno channel the YouTube algorithm posts bbr crap
I saw the baby c titled video but didn't watch it.
Apparently to get more views he's going against his other video's and
T shirts
I will say I always used 11/64 on my 3/8 it cuts good for me and seems to last a long time.

I file down to tie straps as the chain gets near it's end. Oregon exl seems to do better with open gullet. Run them until the teeth break off basically. Stihl cut faster than the PSP's home brew square, or at least Dallas's

Were you on AS a few years back and buddy was selling them, he said his dealer had thousands of them. People were lined up to buy them and then I think Tommy Hall or somebody came along and fucked it up when he said Stihl gave them to him for free as a promotional item
I missed that I never bought Stihl bars just local one's for customers
My old husky dealer got a bunch of those Oregon powercut lightweight bar's in they were 28 or 32" can't remember
He kept trying to get me to buy some
He started out at 100.00 then went to 80.00
My friend worked there and said he got them by mistake or he reported the shipment didn't arrive or something like that he got credited and was trying to get as much as he could to pocket the money I guess.

meh, i dont much care for that dude.
gullets need knocked out on square, which should cut faster and smoother than any round, if its done right. no need to file gullets in round chain, ya kinda get um as ya file.
i hit the straps square grinding, im not the only one that does. if a guy wants square to work with in harder wood he gonna have to. unless he has that particular silvy grinder, not a swing arm. but, i hit them with a file too, so........
no i do not have chains break in the strap, idk how fukers do that, prolly way to low a raker on a short bar and big power head, idk.

I’ve ran the old lightweight Oregon insert bars they double as putting a smile in a log when bucking.

How thick is your wheel?

Newsflash

Stihl dealers in my area are computer illiterate and blame it on lack of training...

So at 3x dealers now I have heard this and at every one I have pointed at a 500i on the showroom shelf and asked why they are selling one if they aren't smart enough to hook the mfr to the computer to diagnose or fix any future issues.. crickets

Follow these simple instructions:

Turn on computer
Download software
Wait for software to update for 45 minutes
Hook hardware to saw
Run diagnostics by following instructions given by software
Make repair as given by the software
Find out you’ve been given the incorrect diagnosis by software
Replace all electrical components anyway
Return saw to customer

:D

Send it to get ported
And when it won't run just say it was fine when it left here
You must've done something to it
And maybe it'll get fixed that way.
