Tools, need some tools!

An air cooler is a huge improvement to any air compressor. I can run mine all day in the summer and drain out a shot glass of water, my friends will get a half a gallon or so. We bought the SIL an oil cooler to cool the air on his for Christmas. He was surprised at how little water mine makes.

I will get pics tomorrow, my storage box is now an ice fishing shanty. Today I put on a bracket for dragging it around, changed door handles, added a window and the first of 3 holes in the floor, and some other minor stuff.

Tomorrow before work is roofing, insulation, and 2 more holes.

My new Milwaukee tools were as good or better than I expected. The little 1/4" impact driver will snap quarter inch lag screws if ya ain't careful. The Hackzall is da bomb for making rough openings.

Pics. First up, a tow point, just some bar stock and a few bolts. As ya can see, it was a little wedged into the trailer. Hopefully fixed that issue as well.

Next, flex sealed the plywood roof. Took 2 quarts, allegedly 1 should have been enuf.

Door handle on the unit only opened from outside, so I swapped it for a barn door hinge.

A window, some framing for it and insulation, and a hole and floor cover.

Tomorrow I put on a coat of paint, and hope to get the other 2 holes and insulation in.

I should have it on the lake by Saturday. Dohn, start making plans to visit.

I now have a 3 holer. (Insert joke here)

2 for fishin, one to put the fishfinder transducers in. Or 3 to fish from, if needed.

I don't think I have posted a pic yet of the bit set I got for my 1/4" impact. I'll get one tomorrow. BIL says his kills the cheapo bulk Irwin bits pretty easily. These were reasonable for the set, and are holding up well. I did stay on the trigger too long today and snap the head off a #8 deck screw.

Tomorrow I paint and insulate, gave my buddy some gas money to leave the heat on in his shop I'm working in so it goes on well.

I think I'm still on track for a maiden voyage Saturday with it.

Still gonna need fine tuning here and there, but that will happen as need or inspiration comes along.

New snow gonna muss your ices up over there? BIL and sis worried about such here.

Might make it harder to get enough to drive a truck on, but we have enough ice for ATV or sled travel. Either will pull this shack, guessing it weighs 400# or so, 2 guys can push it around easily on concrete or plowed snow.

Aren't you afraid the red will scare away the dishes? I would've thought The Dohn would've taught you better.
Iowans, can't teach em anything. Red attracts the fishes. That's why the classic Lund fishin boats, the pride of Little Falls, East Dakota, were all painted red back before the fashion over function mulletheads down in Arkysaw started painting them lowrider plastic boats all sorts of flashy colors, accidentally teaching the industry that boats, much like baits, attract fishermen more the more gaudy they are.
