Tim’s payloader and generator BS thread

I bought a used mag drill on ebay. It arrived yesterday. It's pretty rough. The seller listed it as good used, operational. The spindle is buggered and has 1/4" runout. I figured I would call the manufacturer, Fein and check into the cost of a new spindle. Then call the ebay seller and see if he would work out a solution. The seller has a 30 return policy. If we don't, I could live with sending back on my dime or fixing it if it don't cost too much for parts.
Anyhow, I spoke with the drill manufacturer, Fein and was told parts are NLA. The drill has been recalled by the manufacturer. They have issued a call tag to ship it to them. I have a choice between a check for $1500 or a new comparable model drill. The new drill they're offering is pretty nice, 4 speeds. I went with the new drill but it's on back-order. I'm gonna borrow a friends mag drill one last time.

Tim check this youtube channel out. Toby is in Minesota and has lots of time on his hands. Watching all of his pin and bushing adventires... he basically said its not worth where he is into it at this point. There are several videos of him outlining the whole process but I think that's the first.
He's got a cool project going there.
I ordered pins bushings and new sprockets. The total is under $800. The sprockets were $41 each. They must be made of gingerbread.
I'm prepared to regret this project but for now I'm gonna plow ahead.

I took heed to his warning of dealing with 10,000psi. I bought a new hydraulic hose, made in USA. I figure the old hose could be 30 years old. I don't know. I also added a gauge.

I Havent made any progress on this project. I'm waiting on parts from china. The portapower ram I planned to use aint gettin it done. At 10,000psi, it's pushing with 56,000lbs of force and the pin aint moving. I ordered a 50 ton ram. I had a differential pin laying around that I tried to use to press the pins. It's pretty hard stuff. I think it's left over from a Dana 60 project. I'll square up the end and try again.Resized_20221109_120739.jpegResized_20221109_121333.jpeg

Looks like Rob’s knee.

Still waiting on chinesium undercarriage parts. Business been quiet so I've been catching up on maintenance on the wheel loaders.
The driveshaft on the Schaeff didn't have a grease zerk for the slip yoke. The female splines are teflon coated, intended to be maintenance free. I drilled and tapped a #6-32 plug and fiĺled the whole tube with grease till it started coming out the splines. I had put a cut down wooden broom handle in the tube to help fill the space first. It stiil took nearly to grease cartridges.

Tim you cant replace those bearings?

i had another cylinder done for the big barko a couple months ago, that did not have a spherical bearing on one end, it has an aluminum solid block insert. i have never seen any thing like that before, idk if its barko or redneck? its not worn, so it got put back and greased to beat hell.
