I gots a couple of them
same hear.
latest is 4000.
few saws have failed to impress after lotta hype.
4000 is knot one o those.
Take the ridge out of the cylinder, set the squish to .018-.020, widen the exhaust port some, advance the timing about a 1/3 of the key and then tell me you're not impressed. They wake up really good.
Cannot argue with that. I think I already showed my last saw with some of you. a 3400 I converted over to a 3700. Tached it out at around 13K. Been cutting up alot of elm with it right now getting it broke in and I hate splitting elm so I noodle it all. So far just shy of 2/3 of a cord.Fantastic. Greatest state in the union.
HAH !! Take that ,and put it your pipe ,Mr. Piltz !!View attachment 264View attachment 264
To get that ridge out of the cylinder did you use a lathe or some other method.
Sounds like that will work. Getting rid of that little squish band they put in the tops of those cylinders and then dropping the cylinder really should help with compression. What I've been doing is using a wheel on the dremel then I'll take scotchbrite and an old piston to polish/square it all up.
