I've seen some documentaries on it, believe the original sculptor died, only recently has work started again.
We ran Needkes hwy and around Custer state park today. Yesterday was the annual buffalo roundup, most were in a fairly small (160 acres?) pen at the south end, then back up to this place. Poundsign "Merica!!!
If you make it over to Devil's Tower make sure to stop in Sundance at the Longhorn Grill and get the steak tips wif garlic mashed taters, you won't be sorry. Also there is a great steakhouse in Beulah Wy (Population 35 I think)
