Some of you may remember this gem, a Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoor. The previous owner attacked it with a soldering iron for some reason.

These were finally back in stock. Got one ordered and it showed up, today.

Removed a couple screws and pulled the original stock off. Guess the soldering iron wasn't the only custom work.

Where the original Ruger stock has the trigger guard and magwell all molded into the stock the Magpul has a separate section for that. As a bonus it also converts over to AICS pattern mags.

The Ruger action doesn't have a "conventional" recoil lug setup.

The bedding blocks are molded into the Ruger stock.

On the Magpul they supply new steel blocks that drop into recesses in the stock.

Two screws to retain the action in the stock and another two to hold in the bottom "metal" and she's back together. Fit to the action is pretty good. The barrel channel is clearanced for a much larger barrel contour.

The stock also comes with 3 additional length of pull spacers, 1/2" each. I added one. Remove the upper screw and the everything slides out the back. Toss another spacer on and put it back together.

Are them M lok cut outs on the foregrip? looks like it. also looks like if you take that tab out on the butt stock that might be a quick dissconnect. Put one on that m lock up front and that is the only way to carry a rifle.

Yep and yep.

Now yer makin me want one for my american. it's 30-06. i'd have to rescope it if i hunted with it. don't care for the scope. even though i have killed deer with it. it's horrible at low light.

I think they only make them for the short action Rugers.
