Machine tools and stuff...

That's what she told me

I needs some of your talent

480 3ph in
30kva transformer
240 3ph out

How much can I run on the 240 side?

That bigger mill I just moved has a 4hp spindle motor, and I'm sure 4hp for the other spindle/feeds.

I use the transformer for my little lathe currently. Want to just add another out to power the mill.

Seem doable? Not likely they would both run at the same time anyways.

Thank you.

Joe,

You'll be fine, 30kva (three phase) at 240vac will give you about 70 amps. Just guessing but I'm thinking that 4hp (at 240vac) will be 9-10 amps. I just did the math in my head and these numbers will be close but not exact.

Where do you get your oil from. It has become harder to get around here.
I have a friend with a cement company which is ussaly good for 3 totes a year,
Then the company i buy fuel from are good for another 3,last year they gave me 3 drums of diesel which is too good for the waste oil furnace.I save it for shoulder seasons at home befor and after the wood boiler season.
