Gun talk or something beside the stupid title i gave it

I picked my ammo order yesterday, some stuff is in short supply.
30-30, 357 Mag and standard pressure 38s for the most part, I can get anything I want for the 308.
I now have 1500 rounds for the revolvers, 200 for the 30-30 and 500 for the 308.
I'm not seeing any prolonged firefights in my future, by the time 'they' get here, they will be thinned out.

Must not be talking about Rob, ain’t nothin’ thinnin’ that mf’er out.

I found a J.C Higgins model 103.228, .22 rifle, at a pawn shop. They're asking $200. Evidently, it's the same as a Marlin model 80. It seems to fit what I've been looking for; shorter/carbine-length barrel, open sights, non-semiauto, ability to shoot S, L, and LR. The stock looks brand-new. I saw a just a bit of surface rust on the barrel. I need to go back, to try to see/inspect the bore. The only issue, is that it's missing the magazine.

Thoughts? Do any of you have this or the Marlin?

Here's yer mags. Bit pricy, but you'll only need a couple. I bought a few of their repro Marlin 42/44 series mags for my 42Mb a while back.

Really? A "lighted bore light"

Well, they do make unlighted ones.

Had me one of those "unlighted" ones for years. Left it on a gun show table about 15 years ago....

I sure can't say that. I have sold and traded a bunch of em and some wish i hadn't

IKR?

The ban, effective June 1st, prohibits any sale of magazines with the capacity of over 10 rounds, and ANY firearms that are sold with those magazines. The Libtards are labeling this a "High-Capacity Magazine Ban". Those of us with a fucking brain, know that it's actually a ban on standard-capacity magazines. All of the affected firearms are designed to hold a certain number of rounds. The ten-round magazines that are sold with the Democrat versions of these guns, are NOT what the firearm was designed for. Hell, some (maybe all) of the manufacturers even list the proper magazine as "Standard", and the 10-round magazine as "Optional". A Glock 19 is engineered to hold 15 rounds, and the most common magazine for an AR-15 is a 30-round version. The tyrannical snowflakes making these decisions/laws are both stupid and evil.

Yes, any existing firearms and magazines are grandfathered in. I cannot sell/transfer my Glocks, or any other affected magazines/firearms, after June 1st. I don't "have" to get rid of them, but I don't want them. Both of my G19s and my G44 are NIB. I realized, after the fact, that I hate the grip shape and size. Plus, selling them would offset the purchase of replacement pistols. Hatchet aint rich...

Thanks for the info and your experience with Sig and S&W. I really appreciate that, and am feeling content with my decision.

Wa will be like Ca (as will the feds) in that they'll do away with the "grandfathering" down the road.

I agree about the grip angle; it's weird.

I'm impressed by how many rounds they're cramming in the subcompacts. That said, I think that I'm probably gonna go with the single-stack Shield. My ex and I are both of smaller stature, and neither of us wear loose clothes. I know that there's not much difference in width between the Shield and the Shield Plus (or the Taurus offerings), but we find it significant enough to make a difference. I constantly get "experts" that argue otherwise, but I really think that it does come down to body type and clothing, and of course, personal preference. I'm used to carrying a Kel-tec PF9, which is extremely flat/thin.

I was wearing my longslide 10mm 1911 the day you visited. A loose outer shirt goes a long way....

This is what I "may" have purchased yesterday.

Those are good pistols. Couple of my friends carry them.

Mines never been that hard to work.It is a bit too small though

Too easy...

I wanted you to move it to the wraffle thread.

There's a wraffle thread?

I bought a few parts from AZ Guns, everything went well with my order, ymmv...

Same hear.

Nope, i have looked at one a few times and fondled it.

Moar low hanging fruit...

I’ve had a few mags fail. I just put a new spring and follower in.

If a mag does fail on you I would think you would still be able to buy springs.

I see great opportunities for gun shops opening in cities near the boarder to your state.
I have a feeling they will be very well stocked in mags.

Feds want to eliminate online parts sales (including springs). It'll happen. Best to put stuff (like replacement mag springs) aside now....

Ca DOJ has been nailing people crossing the Nv/Ca boarder with verboten mags and such bought at the Reno gun shows for years. They actually go to the trouble of following folks (walking from cars with CA plates) from the parking lot, noting what they purchased, then having the CHP pull them over on the Ca side of the border. A reliable source told me this years ago...

Reported.

Those butler creek mags sucked. I have a couple of the clear ones, here. :(

Me too....

@Hatchet ,
if you have problems with mag springs ,or pretty much any weapon spring ,look up Wollf Springs ( gunsprings.com ) . Good stuff .

Yep. Factory glok springs will rapidly fail if kept fully loaded for extended periods. Replaced dozens (probably hundreds all told) at the old werk place.

I said he needed 200 mags, i gots more than that.

Atta boy.

Votex sparc for starters. Its what wuz handy.
Gonna get a mag loader. Them 30 round mags are a bugger to get them last few rounds in.

Save yourself the grief and just load 28 or 29 in 'em. That glok mag design is a spring crunchin bitch when loaded 100%.

Oh, and you suck

But being a fat fuck really sucks

Don’t it
