Morning
overcast
The EX200 blew another hose about an hour after i fixed it the day before. This one blew right out of the end of the fitting. It's been a long time since i had one blow like that.
The 950 will be going to get the bucket back on and heading to the gravel pit for a while.

Altra Olympus 5

Very rugged / aggressive trail running and hiking shoe - the grip on these things is absolutely out of this world

No heel drop - meaning that the heel is the same height as the forefoot

Stack height is 33mm, super thick and the compression is spot on - landing on these things is so intensely comfortable and the spring rate is extremely responsive

That vibram megagrip outer sole just bites down and you’re very well grounded and stationary in every single step

I bought them a little over a month ago - I have maybe 50 miles on them total, with only 20 of those miles from running, the other 30 or so are from hiking

I hike every week with my boy in stony brook park here in town, they’re not just awesome at running; they’re also awesome for low speed stepping and climbing too

Only time they show a con is when they’re being used on wet slippery rocks in a creek bed or on shale after a rain - those stiff vibram soles wanna slip more than not on surfaces like that so if you’re hiking or running on said areas after a rain you’re best off leaving them at home (not unlike work boots with vibram soles) - but other than that, they’re a solid 9.5/10 - their performance on dry paths, trails, and graveled surfaces are virtually unmatched….. they also kick some ass on paved surfaces too…..
