For the love of God don’t show me your wood

burnt five cords, no hardwood this year, oak went from $300 to $500, most needed to season for another year, took a pass.
I have 5 cord on hand, most cedar and DF, I'll be adding a few cords more for the bundle business
$500 is pushing it for madrone, but it better look like $500. Also the more the charge, the harder folks look at.
$400 for oak if it's 2 year

Right now, $360 cord oak, $320 cord Fir. Fuel depending.

Probably sitting 30 cord still where I left it. Drop in the bucket.

Went out with a friend an got a truck and trailer load yesterday, bout 1.5 cord+ all fir.
I went out this am and got a small truck load to add to mine.
Used the 261
All the wood is coming from slash piles.
Bout 5 mile round trip, we choking/chaining the pieces and yarding them off the piles.
All the wood is 24 inches an smaller 2-12ft long. Kinda sad to see some much left behind.haul.jpg

little over two hunnard is about as high as i seen here, delivered. i sold hundreds of cords for 90 back in the early 90s.
Some of these bastids are trying to capitalize on rising costs with way overkill. I got 4 cord coming of oak, beech, and yellow birch cut split and delivered for $725 I'll scrounge a few more of my land from blow downs and standing dead. All I know is this house I've redone, spray foam rules, used to be 12-14 plus full cord, this year I'm still working on 5 this season. Winning!

Yeah right, it's 225 here all day long, I paid $100 a cord for log length a few months ago.
I’ve been paying $700/tri-axle loglength for las couple years ,,,I would like to believe it when they say there’s 8-9 cords on that truck 🤔🤨I’ve never got more than 7 honest cords ,,,so I’ve always based my prices on paying $100/cord then adding 4.5 hrs labor ,,an $25-30 for gas-oil- maint ,,,bought 2 loads five months ago ,,,,$900 ea,,,and it is the most muddy,bentup,2’crotchs left on,,8-10”branch stumps keepin it from being loaded snug ,,,,,,I’ve taken 2.5 cord off juan pile an I doubt there’s enough for 3 more 🤔🤨,,,I’m gonna have to have the loggr stop by an see ifn he’ll renegotiate the nex 2 loads I’m gonna need this year !😳🤔🤷‍♂️

10-12 cords is all i could ever get on a semi if the sticks had good length, 40'+. no way there is 10 on a straight truck. and i cant get much over 700 a load. all oak and hickory.

Most triaxle rigs here have the pickr on the end of the frame so they can load n haul a “pup” trlr .Normally the space from the cab protector to the pickr is 22-23’ ,,,most loads won’t have many sticks longer than 19’ ,,sometimes they bury 2 eight footers Wif a 5’ gap between em down in the middle ,,between that an loading a couple double bendy juans that take the space of four straights and you can get shorted by more than 1.5 cords real easy ,,,,and the load will “ look” really nice backing down the driveway !!🤔🤨
