Another one that got cooked, CZ SxS. Hopefully, I'll get around to fully refinishing it one day. This is just to get it cleaned up a bit. I'll try to keep updating as I go.

Not too bad to disassemble.

Pull the screws out of the lock plates.

Yank them off.

Then the trigger guard screw.

Pull the trigger up and rotate it to expose the screw for the rear of the receiver.

Push the lever over and yank the screw hiding underneath.

Then pull the screw that holds the bottom plate on, you'll need a pretty thin screwdriver for this one.

Then cuss and beat on the thing until you can yank the bottom plate out. Or just stick a punch in from the top and give it a couple whacks.

Turn the trigger guard about 90° to the right,

That lets this cut out.

Align with this pin.

Give it a little wiggle and off it comes.

Then you can start scrubbing.

Hoarder..plus pics of the tanks. i never seen one?

There’s not much to see, it’s just a steel tank about 8” wide, 8” deep, 40” long. A pipe burner (not Rob) underneath for heating and something across the top to hang the parts off of. One for bluing, a different one for Parkerizing, one for boiling water, one for a rinse tank and one with oil for displacing the water. Depending on the system you’re using you may need a tank for neutralizing, too.

Doubles wouldn’t go in the tank with the bluing salts as the salt raises the boiling point past the melting point of the soft solder holding on the barrel ribs. They’d go in the boiling water and get Prussian/hot rust blued, which is applied with steel wool.

So you have a different tank for those operations or do you empty the tank and put something else in it? i is no gunsmith, never seen hot bluing in operation. when you blue the gun post pics of the operation.

Separate tanks, you don’t want to cross contaminate chemicals.

pic from the internets, but this is the basic idea.
