Expensive lesson

I forgot and left the mag for my Browing A bolt 270 at home years ago. Single shot rifle for the weekend. I was "lucky", never saw any deer to shoot.
only takes one.
i had to stop by my reloading buddies place since the damn excavators seem to multiplying at my range. both .243 handi ultras shot almost the same hole. dude was impressed, said not many TCs do that well.
of the 06 rounds he loaded, the set out ones showed over pressure signs. lesson learned, hes gonna pull and reload them. standard length shot right where they always did, no signs of over pressure. hes taught me a bit already, when i get set up i'll have a leg up.

lol, yeah 4831 and barnes 165s. i forget the grains but he has it wrote on the box. Charlies good about that so i can duplicate it when i start loading. the savage will put these into less than an inch if i do my part. i couldnt find a factory load to do that.
When we started usin Barnes bullets, about 2004, the first recipe book said 68.5 gr max load, we figured a half gr less should be good... next years book said 67gr max, we changed nothing, ragged one hole groups at 200yds.
