That’s the way I’ve always done too but I’ve noticed the guys back east like to stick the grip in a not so friendly area in my book. As far as the decompression what the hell are those the only time I’ve used one is when the saw is already in a face or back cut. All the years I’ve cut timber I’ve never put a saw between my legs and probably never will I don’t see it being safer or easier on you let alone putting one on the ground ouch my back.
I never tried that but my nephew tried to start my 372 that way
Each and every time he'd knock the choke shut and it wouldn't start
Uncomfortable position it seems to me.
