I've got 2 288s to build and 2 266s 2 272s
And a 268
Hl supply is introducing
The am hd filter elbows for the 268/272
I've tried their new hd filters
They're a bit soft but work perfectly.
They may offer a kit elbow,clamp and filter
What's so attractive is the am flat style filters
Suck
I haven't found a good one.

I found buckets of parts and bought a parts 266 I didn't need
And can get a parts 288 and 272 that I don't need
Just using up my spare parts.
I've outfitted all the kids in the family with
2 series
From toddler to teens.

Damn. Yer talkin about the flat 272/268 filter that goes in the 'black box'? I haven't used 'em yet, but I bought a couple AM repops of those filters for my 261.5XP. Was hoping they were good, as there isn't an HD filter option for that series (unlike with the 268/272, 281/288, 365/372, and 394 families).

I have a chinee 365 'repair parts kit' to put together. Gift from a friend. Already put aside an AM HD top cover/elbow/filter and OEM full-wrap kit fer it. :D

I've run one of their am hd filters for a year.
No problem it was just 10.00 seems very soft
But still together.

I still have or have family members
Running the prc 365 kits I turned into lowtop 372s three or four year's ago.
I built all Chinese 5 of them
With 268 pop ups for a couple
And a couple 272 pop-up for the 52mm
Prc bb cylinders.
Comp landed in the 170s
Very easy to start with the light pistons.
They run a 24" fine
Lots of cutting firewood with these.

And a hyway bb with pop up piston and cylinder Kit'.
Honestly the hyway kit seems to run the strongest
But the cheap farmertec kits
Have a lot of variation.
A couple year's ago
I bought 2 372 hi top saws from china when they were introduced.
Dunlap ported two new oem Husqvarna
50mm cylinder kits
Not knowing how long it would last.
I've only run one of them but I run it
Constantly falling hardwood.
Still runs perfect china carb and all.

Imho the weak points to the prc saws
Are the fuel/pulse line's
And the chainbrakes can be finicky
I got pissed and cut the bands of a couple
Of them.
I've lost 2 coils and three killswitches
And one case gasket
No mechanical failure's
Loctite is your friend.
 
I rebuilt a friend's 357XP with a Hyway p/c kit. (crap OEM plastic intake boot clamp setup killed another top end). Everything looked good with the kit........................except the underside of the piston skirt and bearing bosses had 'extra' meat and jjjjuuuuuussssst bound up the crank flyweights at BDC.

Didn't discover that fun fact until I tried turning 'er over after the Threebond had set. Had to un-seal the jug then massage the underside of the piston so things would clear. Added a scosh of intake duration while it was apart and it's a strong runner now. Yes I upgraded the boot clamp to a steel setup.
 
Friend asked me to tune a friends saw 235husky POS,,, and it was filthy to boot, all the av springs are stretched.
I used the special carb tool adjusted carb best as possible, replaced two starter screws,,,one has pulled its insert out,, fuk it.
its going back never to be seen again.

Screws fell out of a Husky??? Never heard that one before.
